he's a good dad, but is so often said before excusing behaviors that should be called out instead he doesn't do night wakes or school drops or visits but he sometimes picks up and if you ask might do dishes for years she has begged for help with the load she is met with excuses and fears when he explodes if we reversed the roles and subbed mom for dad they wouldn't hesitate to call mom bad it's time to stop praising the bare minimum father because he's not a good dad if he mistreats their mother 03.06.2024

This poem speaks such truths! I’m not a parent, but was raised by 2 parents who weren’t ‘really’ parents. I knew so many others who had Dad’s like this as well, but they still seem to be praised for doing he bare minimum🫠Such a bitter pill to swallow
